I offer 1:1 private sliding scale breathwork sessions in a space in NYC (Brooklyn), sliding scale virtual sessions all over (and the work is just as powerful!), and facilitate groups monthly in NYC & Brooklyn. If you’re wondering “what is sliding scale?” or “why sliding scale?” please read more here.

You can book an in-person Brooklyn session by scrolling down.

If you aren’t in the NYC area and want to book a virtual session, please email me. (Yes! Breathwork powerfully travels through the interweb because this practice is powerfully rooted in your body, with my guidance and support. I’ve done a lot of virtual work myself and it’s incredible.)

Please see below for additional info on rates, the sliding scale, and my training before you book a session.

If you want to book a virtual session or an in-home session, please email me. I am currently booking out about 3-4 weeks in advance for these sessions.

Breathwork is a powerful active meditation using a 2-part fast-paced breath. It's so helpful for connecting to your body (because we all know how hard that can be but how powerful when we can or do), moving stuck energy, opening your heart and connecting  to your intuition and embodied wisdom & memory. It is an incredible tool for moving through embodied traumatic experience, anxiety, depression, blocked emotional energy and so much more. It's for you* even if you have panic attacks, even if you have asthma, even if you experience chronic pain. (And maybe most especially.) You'll feel a sense of clarity, focus, creativity, some calm, connection to your inner wisdom and more. Please feel free to email me with any questions around accessibility or anything else.

While there are some similarities and overlap with Pranayamic & Holotropic traditions, among others, this particular practice is different and was developed by David Elliott.

Doing breathwork with Jennifer has helped me to break through a number of body and energy based blockages that I previously thought were purely psychological. The connection of the body to the mind is something that is not explored enough when working on healing trauma, but this breathwork is a powerful facilitator for making this connection and doing the actual healing. Jennifer provides an open and supportive space, allowing whatever comes up for me to be present.

Part of why I love breathwork so much is that it reminds us we all, each of us, hold the power within ourselves to shift and heal parts of ourselves and our past experiences even when the world is a mess. It's the little shifts that I'm hoping can ease the pain and grief we carry around. These shifts are literally rooted in our own breath coupled with the radical witnessing and presence of another person. It is for sure breathWORK but in a non-capitalist sense because you get all the benefits turned right back to you and you can take the tool with you to work with at any point. It's not easy: it's a very active and disciplined meditation but it's worth it. There are tools happening but at its core, it's you and the breath; the breath is the medicine. It is a psychedelic and transcendent experience.

If you’re looking to be an active and engaged part of your own healing, breathwork is a great choice for you! The practice does ask us to show up for our own healing.

If you are looking for support before or after doing psychedelic ceremonies and/ or plant medicine work, this practice is an incredible tool for prepping for deep work or integrating the wisdom that came out of it.

I welcome people of all genders, identities, and experiences and I'm dedicated to offering care to queer, trans and gender non-conforming people largely because I know how difficult it is to find safe(r), accessible spaces to move towards a bit of healing and because I know in this fractured world, if we don't do it for each other, who else will!? And I'll be working hard to do this through trauma-informed and harm reduction lenses.

In the group and individual breathwork sessions I’ve done with Jennye, I have found her remarkably skillful at creating a safe space to let people feel and express what they need to feel and express. I think part of it is that her caring and authenticity comes through and helps you get as honest with yourself as you need to get.

*If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy, have experienced traumatic brain injury & accompanying seizures, or experience retinal detachment, please consult with your doctor first and email me with any questions or concerns before booking.

What To Expect

We will start with a short conversation to help frame our work together as well as set any intentions. You will then begin breathing in the style I will teach you. I'm there to guide you through the 45 minute breathing with guidance to help keep you focused on the breath, oils, incense,* and an energizing and introspective playlist. We will close with a little conversation and reflection. I suggest that you plan to commit to a few sessions so that we can go deep and you can get a solid sense of the work we can do together.

Each person experiences breathwork differently but you will most likely notice a variety of physical and emotional experiences like tingling, vibrating, renewal, and release.

Afterwards you might feel energized, clear, calm, and connected. This practice is one of my very favorite for physical, emotional, spiritual, and energetic release, expansion, and fuller body integration.

*Oils and incense can be removed for people with scent and/ or chemical sensitivity.

I offer sessions sliding scale but please do see below and read all the way through this page to determine where you fall. After doing a lot of research I've found that market rates for a 1:1 Breathwork session in NYC often run $150-200 per session flat rate. I respect practitioners individual choices and know rents in NYC are wildly high and I also want to offer sessions that will hopefully be more accessible and meet the needs of people who wish to try it out. I don't ask to see any proof and rely on your honesty and integrity when placing yourself on the scale.  Those with ample resources or access to resources, financial support from family etc. are invited to pay at the higher end of the range to help support and sustain financially accessible work. Sliding scale only works when the low and the high are balanced so thank you in advance for your consideration.

The income-based sliding scale is a guide. Please take other forms of access and income into consideration. If you have a savings account, if you are able to buy plane tickets and travel regularly, or widely, for pleasure, if you've recently invested in a home or property, if you are able to eat out regularly without worry or make large purchases like tattoos and other luxury items: please consider yourself in the middle or upper part of the scale. If you don't currently have paid employment but are able to access family money or other financial support, please take this into consideration. Please choose appropriately so that those who truly need to access the lower end of the scale are able to. I rely on the honesty and integrity of those booking sessions in order to continue doing this work sustainably. Thanks in advance.

If you would like to help support the sustainability of the sliding scale, please read more about my Pay it Forward program. More info below as well.

Why Me?

For the last decade I have been engaged in anti-violence and trauma work in different capacities, from being a rape crisis counselor in an emergency room to a community organizer to a book editor to a trauma-focused somatic writing workshop facilitator. I also have additional trainings in harm reduction & substance misuse/ addiction. I've worked with many people around these experiences, bring my own personal experience to this work and am also always doing my own healing work so that I can be as clear as possible in our work together.

I bring a trauma-informed, queer & trans centered, person-first, non-pathologizing or shaming lens to this work. I am uniquely skilled to help you move through and with traumatic experience, depression, anxiety, grief, substance use & misuse while you uncover & re-imagine the stories of your body. I've been lucky to have been supporting people in some of their darkest (and brightest!) times for years and am incredibly heartened and inspired by this work.

Jennifer lovingly and skillfully guided me on a journey through some tricky terrain. Body work can bring up intense feelings and strong reactions with me.  Jennifer held space with care, compassion and a strong and palpable belief in my body’s capacity to move through tumultuous moments, using breath as a beacon and guide. By the time the session ended a feeling of calm had seeped into me like nothing I had ever experienced. It was, without a doubt, exactly what i needed, and exactly how I needed it.
— Ayelet
I had my first completely pain-free evening in....I can’t remember how long, after our appointment. It was amazing, so wonderful. And this morning was great too. It’s wonderful to be working with my body and to be guided by you toward actively living my embodied life, as opposed to settling for one that passes me by.
— Gina
Jennifer is a skilled and gentle and subtle healer. With the art of an artist, a royal astronaut, she and the breath took me to outer space to realize I’m here to accept and welcome whatever the universe/ god/ spirit has to offer me.
— Anonymous
Each time I leave breathwork with Jennifer, the giant knot of trauma and pain that I carry is a little bit looser. I am grateful for the healing space, the encouragement to let go, and Jennifer’s potent compassion.
